Week of June 4
Gators Parents,
The season is off to a great start! Thanks to all of you, the swimmers and coaches for your support.
IMPORTANT VOLUNTEER INFORMATION:
Thanks to the amazing number of Gators this season and some pending changes in league requirements, we are adjusting the volunteer requirement. Thanks to all of you who have already scheduled your volunteer sessions for the season. We want to make sure anyone who wants to complete their requirements can do so in order to receive the work deposit back. More hands will help the meets run smoothly, and more hands could also mean fewer required shifts for everyone. If you have not already scheduled shifts AND you wish to volunteer in order to have your volunteer deposit returned, PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL AND LET US KNOW. After we get a full count of those who wish to volunteer, we'll be back in touch about any changes.
Speaking of volunteer shifts, we have a VERY IMPORTANT spot to be filled. Please let us know asap if you are willing to serve as an official for this year's season. This job requires participating in a short training session and monitoring the swim lanes during the meets to ensure swimmers are completing the strokes and races in the appropriate manner. We need three more parents to be trained as officials. If you are willing to help out in this way, please respond to this email or text/call Emily at 937-657-9164. Thank you!
Here are a few important pieces of information for the coming week:

- As a reminder, time trials & volunteer training will be held on June 5 at 7:00 PM at the pool. It's important that as many swimmers and are there as possible so the coaches can get times to create the meet line up. We also need parents there as we'll have a parent meeting and training on volunteer positions.
- Our first meet is Tuesday, June 12 at home vs. Miamisburg.
- Team pictures will be taken on June 15 at 8:00 AM at the pool.
- Please see the complete schedule here.
- Your swimmers must be signed up for each meet. It's very important that you let the coaches know if your swimmer(s) will or will not be in attendance for each meet. To sign up online, go to http://germantowngators.swimtopia.com/swim_meets and click on "Meet Entry" for each meet and choose "attending" or "not attending." You can edit your entries online until 8am the morning of each meet. After that point, please contact Coach Lemke directly if your availability changes.
- Please check out the Resources portion of the website. The FAQs and Team Handbook contain everything you need to know about swim meets!
- Coach (Brian) Lemke can be reached at 937-267-6005 or [email protected]. Please contact him directly if you have any questions/comments about the swimming part of swim team.
- If you would like to receive text message alerts about Gators, please text the word "Alert" to 22300.
Here are a few other reminders:
- Team suits can be purchased through Swimville USA using this order form. Remember, team suits are not required.
- Don't forget to buy a Germantown Pool pass for your swimmer(s) at the City Building. It is required for all swimmers to have a pass.
- Swimmers must be registered for the team, have purchased a pool pass, and have registration fees and work deposits paid before they can practice. Please complete these tasks as soon as possible!
As always, please feel free to contact the Board with any questions, comments or concerns by emailing us at [email protected] or calling/texting Emily at 937-657-9164.
