Gator Bulletin Week 5 (6/26/23) and CHAMPS information

    Gator Families,

We have another busy week ahead as we start the final weeks of dual meets before CHAMPS! Attached you will find this week's Gator Bulletin (6/26), it will also be posted on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

Specific information for our away at Cardinal Hill (Tuesday) will be sent the day of the meet with heat sheets and "Athlete Entries".

Please check your volunteer shifts in preparation for the meet this week. If you have any questions about the roles, please feel free to contact me. If you no longer can fulfill your shift:

    - Prior to the day of the meet, you are still able to drop your shift on SwimTopia for others to fill.

    - On the meet day, please reach out to us so we can make a backup plan.

    REMINDERS:

    • Declare for the Cardinal Hill away meet by NOON on Monday (6/26) and CHAMPS by Thursday (6/29) by NOON.
      • The rest of the meets for the season are open for declarations.
      • We will NOT be making up the Miamisburg meet. Anyone who had a volunteer shift for that meet it will be honored as a shift for the volunteer requirement.

    Upcoming Championship Meet Information

    • As the season begins to wind down, the Championship meet at West Carrollton is scheduled for Saturday, July 8. This meet begins in the morning (typically warm ups are around 7:00 A.M.) and concludes around 5:00 P.M.
    • In order to be eligible to swim in the Championship meet, swimmers must attend 2 meets. They must also have swam at least 1 meet UNASSISTED to be eligible to swim at CHAMPS.
    • Entries for the championship meet are due by this THURSDAY (6/29) at NOON.
      • As a reminder, we will be taking a TEAM based approach for CHAMPS as how events are entered/the number of entries per event may impact the team’s overall results.
      • Families will select events, but coaches reserve the right to change the events to help the team (i.e. making sure that entries are distributed over age group events, etc.). If you have any questions or need help selecting events, please talk to the coaching staff.
    • On the Friday night (July 7) before “Champs,” the team will host a spaghetti dinner. Please RSVP by Thursday, July 6, so we can ensure we have enough food to accommodate everyone attending. Additionally, we will be opening up donations in the coming week for spaghetti dinner food items and supplies.

As always, feel free to reach out with any questions. We are excited for a terrific week ahead!
