    Gator Bulletin Week 6 (7/3/23) and LOTS of info for this week including SPIRIT WEEK :-)

    Gator Families,

    We are in our last week of the season culminating with CHAMPS on Saturday! There is a lot going on, so please make sure to read over all the info carefully. We will be having spirit week/coach appreciation this week, check the bulletin out for reminders. Attached you will find this week's Gator Bulletin (7/3), it will also be posted on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

    Specific information for our home meet (Thursday) will be sent the day of the meet with heat sheets and "Athlete Entries". We will have food trucks (Little BoiJon Asian Cuisine, Dews BBQ and Shakes, Wild Banana, and Tikiz Shaved Ice) for our home meet. We will also have a drink (water and Gatorade) only concession.

    Volunteer Information

    Please check your volunteer shifts in preparation for the meet this week. If you have any questions about the roles, please feel free to contact me. If you no longer can fulfill your shift:

    - Prior to the day of the meet, you are still able to drop your shift on SwimTopia for others to fill.

    - On the meet day, please reach out to us so we can make a backup plan.

    For those still looking to pick up their 5 volunteer shifts. Currently, we have:

    - 3 volunteer shifts open (1- Relay Assistant; 1- 2nd half Scorer; and 1- End of Meet Trash Pick Up/Removal) for the Idle Hour home meet on Thursday, July 6.

    - 2 volunteer shifts open (1- 2nd session ribbons and 1- 4th session timer [events 61-80] for Champs on Saturday, July 8, 2023.

    - There is the possibility a couple more shifts may open during the week.

    REMINDERS:

    • Declare for the Idle Hour home meet by NOON on Wednesday (7/5).
      • Please make sure that you mark if you are attending or not attending.
    • Declare for the Spaghetti Dinner by NOON on Thursday (7/6) so we can ensure there is enough food.
      • Please make sure that you mark if you are attending or not attending.
      • We will NOT be making up the Miamisburg meet. Anyone who had a volunteer shift for that meet it will be honored as a shift for the volunteer requirement.

    SPIRIT WEEK- This Week!

    This week is Spirit Week/Coach Appreciation Week!! The coaches will be on the lookout for the “best dressed” for the day’s theme at each practice!

    • Monday- Patriotic Day- Wear your red, white, and blue!!!
    • Tuesday- NO PRACTICE- Happy 4th!
    • Wednesday- Superhero Day! Come to practice dressed as your favorite superhero!
    • Thursday- Disney Day! Come to practice dressed as your favorite Disney character! This could include the traditional Minnie/Mickey, princesses, Star Wars, etc. Anything and everything Disney!
    • Friday- Gator Day/Coach Appreciation Day! Dress in your favorite Gator gear to come to practice!
      • All swimmers are encouraged to show our coaching staff how much you appreciate all their hard work this year!
        • Kids can draw pictures, make cards, pick a flower, etc. to show their coaches some love!
      • 13 and ups: We will be doing anything but a kickboard. Get creative and bring anything that can be used to act as a kickboard during kick sets at practice…but NO kickboards 🙂

    Upcoming Championship Meet Information

    • The Championship meet at West Carrollton is scheduled for Saturday, July 8.
      • This meet begins in the morning (typically warm ups are around 7:00 A.M.) and concludes around 5:00 P.M. Remember to pack lots of sunscreen and water!
      • Stretching: 6:50 A.M.
      • In-water Warm-Ups: 7:05 A.M.
      • Meet Begins: 8:15 A.M.
    • On the Friday night (July 7) before “Champs,” the team will host a spaghetti dinner. Please RSVP by Thursday, July 6, at NOON, so we can ensure we have enough food to accommodate everyone attending. Additionally, we have opened up sign ups for spaghetti dinner food items and supplies later this evening.
    • Families can head over to the West Carrollton pool to set up camp for Saturday's Championshipmeet any time after 5 P.M. on a Friday. A map of where each team camp will be sent later this week..
    • Remember, the entire league attends this meet, so it is a very busy place. The league would like to remind everyone to be good stewards of our team and league, so please make sure to comply with requests of the hosting team.
    • Additionally, the hosting team would like to remind everyone that no grills are permitted at the meet due to fire regulations.
    • The parking lot at West Carrollton fills up quickly, so many people park on Wilson Park Dr. and walk to the pool.
