Champs Volunteer Shift Information
July 10th
Gator families,
As a reminder, you are signed up to volunteer at the championship meet this weekend. We have had to make some changes based on league shift assignments, but we tried to keep everyone within the shifts they signed up for if possible. We have had to move a few people due to open shifts that needed to be covered.
- Volunteer check-in: Gator Volunteer Sign with Shauna at the tent with the "Gators Volunteer Sign" near the intersection of the paths by the light pole.
- 1st shift (events 1-20) volunteers- check-in by 7:30a
- 2nd shift (events 21-40) volunteers- check in by event 11 or sooner
- 3rd shift (events 41-60) volunteers- check-in by event 31 or sooner
- 4th shift (events 61-80) volunteers- check-in by event 51 or sooner
- Remember to check-in by the designated time as late check-ins may result in the team having to fill your shift and not receiving volunteer credit.
- Please make sure to report to your shift about 2 events prior to your start time (ie. 2nd shift report at event 19)
- ALL Officials Meeting at 7:45 A.M. near the scoring tent/peninsula behind slide (start end of pool)
- Timer (first shift only) Meeting at 7:45 A.M. behind the starting blocks
- ****Please note: Shift change meetings will occur approx. 15 minutes prior to each shift change. Timers will meet under the Pavilion on the starting side of the pool at this time. Team representatives; please make sure your timers attend this meeting. There will be shift changes at Event 20, 40 and 60.
2. Additional Volunteer Needs
- We have had to move people around from ribbons and standby into manning the bell heat table.
- OR if you know anyone who would like to pick up the shift, please let us know.
- Additionally, if you would be interested to be a standby for any portion of the meet, please let us know.
3. Bell Heat Assignment
- Below is your assignment for the ribbons portion of the meet. Bell heats will be marked on the heat sheet you are given. You will ring the bell signaling it is a bell heat. Whoever wins the bell heat will come to your table to get a prize.
4. Ribbons
- Grab our ribbons from under the shelter by the slide by switching out Germantown tubs. Then file ribbons into swimmer folders. You may need to visit the shelter several times to make sure we don’t have a ribbon back up in filing.
- If we run short on a required volunteer shift, we may have to move a ribbons person to the bell heat table or to timer.
5. . Timers: We will be timing lanes 1 & 5.
6. Officials- See assignments below
- ALL Officials Meeting at 7:45 A.M. near the scoring tent/peninsula behind slide (start end of pool)
Your volunteer assignment is listed on your SwimTopia account, as well as posted under the SOSL Championship meet information. Please let us know if you have any questions. Thank you again for your volunteering to help us make sure the meets can run!
Thanks,
The Germantown Gators
