Gator Bulletin Week 2- 6/2/25
Gator Families,
We have a busy week ahead! Please make sure that you RSVP (as attending or not attending) for time trials [held this Thursday night; RSVP by Wednesday at NOON]. We need this so we can get everything set for our swimmers to have entry times when our actual meets start and can be seeded properly. Please remember these deadlines are important to make sure our swimmers have meets that run well. In addition, please double check that you completed your RSVPs. Pictures have been moved to Monday, June 9, due to a scheduling conflict.
Some Items of Note:
- The AlleyCat spirit wear sale ends tonight at Midnight! Make sure to get on at the following link to order your merch!!! AlleyCat link: https://g-town-gators25.alleycatstore.com/
- Please purchase your Germantown Pool Passes (this is required by the city) at the following link by June 10: Gators Pool Pass Purchase
- Additionally, the city will get us the pool passes and we will distribute to you when we receive them. If you plan to go to the pool this week, just stop at the front desk and say your name and that you purchased a Gator Swim Team Pool pass.
- If you missed the Parrot Swimwear fitting last week, you are still able to order online at the following link: https://parrotsportsgear.com/swim-team-log-in/ using the passcode: germantown25. It is recommended if you choose not to purchase a team suit to make sure your child has a green or black suit for meets as those are our team colors.
- Swimmers will receive their 2025 Germantown Gators team cap at Time Trials Thursday evening.
Make sure to:
- RSVP for Pictures [held next Monday morning (9/9) at 8:00 A.M.- this is a date change] by Friday so we can let the photographer know how swimmers to expect. Please note pictures have been changed from June 5 due to a scheduling conflict.
- Declare for Time Trials by this Wednesday (6/7) at NOON so we can build the meet.
- Declare for next week’s first meet against Miamisburg by NOON on Monday (6/9) and our meet against West Carrollton by NOON on Wednesday (6/11).
- Please mark attending OR not attending, then select your swimmer’s events (if you have any questions, the coaches are happy to help)..
- If you do NOT declare, it will be assumed that your swimmer is not attending the meet and therefore not entered.
As we stated in the volunteer email sent earlier today, each family will need 5 shifts (total between champs and regular season meets) to meet their volunteer requirements. Please let us know if you have any questions. Officials, we think that we will still need 5 shifts total, but we have not had any information regarding the championship meet, so we may have to do some moving around of shifts once we receive word from the league and make it 4 regular season shifts plus 1 at champs (but again we aren’t sure yet).
Attached to this email you will find this week’s Gator Bulletin. As meet declarations are now open, we are also attaching a New Swimmer Event Info sheet to help you determine what events to register your swimmer for.
For time trials, stretching and warm-ups for swimmers will begin at 6:00 P.M., please have your swimmer at the pool and ready by that time, arriving at 5:45 is recommended. Time trials will have job signups, but do not count towards the volunteer shift requirements. Please sign up for time trials shifts based on what jobs you signed up for at other meets or what jobs you would like to learn about. This is so everyone can have a “trial run” before meets start just like the swimmers do. Volunteer training will begin at approximately 6:00 P.M. I will send heat sheets and the time trials timeline out Thursday so you know what events your child is swimming. In addition, I will send a quick explanation of how to read the heat sheet for new swimmers.
Finally, families of 8 and under assisted swimmers, as we have not met all of our assisted swimmers yet due to evening practices vs. morning practices, all assisted swimmers will attend the full Monday morning practice from 9:30-10:45 A.M. From there we will determine if groupings will be needed to ensure swimmers are getting more individualized practice. If the water/air temperatures prove to be chilly this day or any day for little Gators, we may shorten practice times to ensure a positive experience with the littlest Gators.
Thank you again and Go Gators!
