Get Excited for the 2026 Germantown Gators Swim Season!
Welcome back, Returning Gators Families!
With an exciting winter swim season wrapping up, the Germantown Gators Board have been busy starting to plan and prep for the upcoming 2026 swim season! With the recent warm weather, it feels like Gator season is right around the corner!
First and foremost, we would like to welcome back our coaching staff: Head Coach- Andrew Sellers and Assistant Coaches- Miki Hill and Sam Berry. We are looking for another assistant coach or associate coach to help with the day to day operations of the program once we are in season. If you know of anyone who would be interested in this position, please direct them to The Germantown Gators Website found at this link. We are excited to have Coach Andrew, Coach Miki and Coach Sam returning to continue the work of building a successful and long-lasting program!
In addition to our wonderful coaching staff, our Junior Coaches (Trainee) application is also open and will close Sunday, May 10. This program is for Gator swimmers who will be 13 years old by June 1, 2026, and would like to help our younger Gators during their practices and at meets with all things swim team. If you are a Gator swimmer between ages 13-18 years of age and would like to apply to be a Junior Coach, please follow the link to apply at the Junior Coaches Link on the Germantown Gators SwimTopia site.
Next up, important dates and upcoming information!
Registration: We will be running online registration again this year. Look for registration to open up next week!!!! As we did last year, swimmers will be supplied with a Gators swim cap and a team shirt for the season. As we are ordering team shirts for the swimmers, our registration deadline will be May 24, 2026, so we can make sure orders are placed in a timely manner. We'll send another email as soon as it is open. The registration fee will be $100.
Pool Passes: This year we will be able to offer the ability to purchase Germantown pool passes online through the city. The specific link for Gators will be available when registration opens up. Passes can be purchased online or at the city building. When passes are purchased through the Gator link on registration, they will be offered at a discounted rate. The rate for the season is: Single Pass $50.50; Family Pass (2-4 members) $101; additional members over family pass $20 per person. The link will be included in your registration confirmation email and is an additional purchase (meaning that completing your team registration is separate from the pass purchase).
Schedule: Our practice and meet schedules for our 2026 season are available on our website!
Bulletin Board: Each year the Germantown Gators utilize a bulletin board display case that is two doors and approximately 4 feet wide by 3 feet tall located at the Germantown pool. The meet schedule, important information/weekly newsletter, and sponsors are displayed on the board. We would like to give the opportunity for some of our artistic Gators to create the bulletin board design and put together the board for the 2026 summer swim season. If you are interested in lending your artistic ability to the Gators, please complete the design submission by following the 2026 Gator Bulletin Board Design Submission link.
Officials: Training for officials will occur in early May. If you are willing to officiate for our 2026 season, please email [email protected] to let us know. For those that volunteer to officiate, 50% of your first swimmer’s registration will be discounted on the registration with the expectation that you complete the officials training and that you will complete your volunteer shift requirements (typically four regular season volunteer shifts and one championship shift). More information will follow on official recruitment in April.
Finally, volunteer shifts are always being reevaluated each season to make sure we are utilizing volunteers effectively. With this being said, there has been some shifting/combining/realigning the job responsibilities. We are linking a draft of the job description to this message, as well as posting the job description page to our website. These are tentative and may be adjusted closer to the season.
- We will be opening up volunteer shift sign-ups on June 1 this year. We found this was very effective last year as we were able have an accurate count of families to determine the number of required volunteer shifts.
- As was the case last year, we will be collecting a volunteer deposit of $200 that will be returned contingent upon completing the volunteer requirement for the season; the $200 will be divided per number of required shifts so completing some shifts over zero shifts will get a portion of the deposit back.
All of this swim team talk has us excited for another great season! Be on the lookout for registration information within the next few days. See you all at the pool!
Go Gators!
