Volunteer Information- Reminder Volunteer Shifts & Meet Registration Open TOMORROW

The first practices of the season started swimmingly!!! It was great to see everyone excited to be back in the pool!

Attached to this message you will find an informative presentation of the various volunteer jobs that will be posted this Monday, June 1. If you have any specific questions, feel free to reach out!

With having an extra two home meets this year, this has increased the number of shifts that we needed to fill. We were able to back the total volunteer requirement back to 6 shifts by eliminating/combining non-essential roles. This did take several jobs away, but we really do not want to burden families into spending every meet working a shift.

One job that was removed was "stand-by," which is being a "sub" for any job that is unfilled or may be unfilled due to an absent volunteer. We have found in the past that many times, the "stand-by" was not needed. However, in order to help be prepared for meets and helping them to run efficiently. We are going to request that each family be prepared to act as a stand-by on a rotating basis. We understand things happen and you may not be at the meet the night that your last name is scheduled as standby, but please know we are trying to balance the load by only asking you to sign-up for essential roles and hoping everyone will pitch in a little on designated nights as stand-bys.  We also hope that we will not need to ask people to do this as long as everyone picks up their number of shifts/does not "no-show" to a meet.

The required volunteer shift number is 6 shifts (1 shift=1/2 meets for regular season meets or 1/4 meet for the championship meet) to receive full volunteer deposit reimbursement. Swim Officials/Stroke and Turn Judges please sign up for 6 shifts (5 regular season and 1 at Champs). We are still waiting on some information from the league as far as what the championship team job assignments will be, so it is listed as Clerk of Course as it requires the most volunteers, but note it may change.

We will be posting a sign up for jobs at time trials that will be held Thursday, June 4. These shifts do not count towards our volunteer shifts as this is a way to give swimmers and families a chance to learn how swim meets work and how to do jobs during the meets. All hands are on deck for time trials to help everyone learn what to do in order to have a smooth season. There is a job sign up to try to have an organized way to learn/practice different jobs. Please try to sign up for roles at time trials that you have signed up for in actual meets during the season so you can learn what to do. We are also open to having you help out at a role that you want to learn more about. Time trials are a great learning opportunity for everyone!
