    Upcoming Championship Meet Information

    • As the season begins to wind down, the Championship meet at West Carrollton is scheduled for Saturday, July 11. This meet begins in the morning (typically warm ups are around 7:00 A.M.) and concludes around 5:00 P.M.
    • In order to be eligible to swim in the Championship meet, swimmers must attend 2 meets. They must also have swam at least 1 meet UNASSISTED. Swimmers must have a legal time to enter an event, No Time events are not accepted.
    • Entries for the meet are due by THURSDAY (7/2) at NOON.
      • As a reminder, we will be taking a TEAM based approach for CHAMPS as how events are entered/the number of entries may impact the team’s overall results.
      • Families will select events, but coaches reserve the right to change the events to help the team (i.e. making sure that entries are distributed over age group events, etc.). If you have any questions or need help selecting events, please talk to the coaching staff.
    • On the Thursday night (July 9) before “Champs,” the team will host a team dinner. Please RSVP (this will open later this week) by Wednesday, July 8, so we can ensure we have enough food to accommodate everyone attending. Additionally, we will be opening up donations in the coming week for needed supplies.
    • The league sells spirit ads in the heat sheet/program [no digital heat sheets will be sent out] for the meet. If you would like to place a spirit ad please follow the link below. Each ad is $5. Payments will need to be sent to our PayPal account (memo: Spirit Ad) so we can get one check to the league for all orders placed. The deadline to place a spirit ad is Sunday, June 30 @ 9:00 P.M. with payments made by July 1 at NOON (or ad orders will be canceled).Spirit Ads Order Link. PayPal Account: http://paypal.me/GermantownGators

As always, feel free to reach out with any questions. We are excited for a terrific week ahead!

    ~ The Gator Board

    From the Gators Coaches,

    • Attendance
      • Attendance is extremely important for long term improvement.  We have some swimmers asking us to improve or work on specific tasks.  While attendance is not mandatory please understand improvement of skill comes from the morning practices.
      • We also would like to do more fun type days (particularly on Fridays) but we have lacked the numbers to do so.
    • Relays
      • Relays are the only things on Gators that is by design swim to win.  We make relay decision based on the times in the team database, ability to perform the skill, and endurance.
      • We have several families who pick no relays or no late relays.  In several age groups we have only enough swimmers for 1 relay.  Please, when possible stay for the free relays.
    • Entries
      • Coaches will be looking more closely at what swimmers can and cannot do these last few meets as Championships approach.

    Thank You from the Coaches
