Championship Meet Information & End of Season Information
Good evening, Gators!
Last night was a great last home meet for the season! Ending the season with a terrific meet and a team win against Forest Hills was awesome! Way to go swimmers!!! One more dual meet (July 7, entries due by NOON on July 6) and then on to CHAMPIONSHIPS! We have LOTS of info in this email, so please make sure to read it carefully.
Speaking of Championships, we wanted to pass along information regarding the championship meet.
Championships
- Registration deadline to declare your swimmer for champs is NOON THURSDAY, JULY 2 as we have to get entries to the league. Please make sure to mark them as going or not going, so coaches can plan accordingly. If you do not declare them by this date, we will assume they are not attending the meet as we pay a per swimmer fee for this meet. Coaches may need to move swimmers events to make sure we have swimmers participating in each event.
- There is NO ASSISTED SWIMMING (Events 81/82) AT CHAMPS. If your swimmer is assisted, they must swim 1 league meet unassisted (Idle Hour) to be able to swim at Champs. Again, no catchers will be allowed in the pool during the Championship Meet.
- Shirts & Spirit Ads: The league sells spirit ads in the heat sheet/program [no digital heat sheets will be sent out] for the meet. If you would like to place a spirit ad please follow the link below. Each ad is $5. Payments will need to be sent to our PayPal account (memo: Spirit Ad) so we can get one check to the league for all orders placed. The deadline to place a spirit ad is Tuesday, June 30 @ 9:00 P.M. with payments made by July 1 at NOON (or ad orders will be canceled).
- Spirit Ads Order Link. PayPal Account: http://paypal.me/
GermantownGators *Check the attached information from West Carrollton for more information. Make sure that you select "sending to a friend" versus a business to avoid transaction fees for the team. - T-Shirt Order Link- Orders due by 9:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 30.
- Champs Jobs: We have wonderful news! We received volunteer assignments from the league and we DO NOT have to do clerk of course. Instead, we will be the bell heat winner and heat winner ribbons. This means we will have a person sit at the bell heat table and ring a bell for select heats. Whoever wins that heat will then come over to you to get a prize from the table. For heat winner ribbons, we will take half of the lanes to give heat winner ribbons out for each heat of the meet, just like we do at home meets only we don’t have to time too :-) If you had already signed up for clerk of course, we will move you to this job once we get all information finalized. We will also need to have 2 timers per shift (20 events) for lanes 1 & 5. Officials, be on the lookout for a separate email from us with championship information/assignments early next week.
- Championship Meet Theme: Pirates! Decorations throughout your team's camp are encouraged. The lifeguards will walk through all team camps and announce a winner on the day of Champs.
Champs Week Information (July 6-11)
- Spirit Week: Attached are the daily spirit themes to build excitement heading into champs.
- Final Team Combined Practice: On Friday, July 10, the team will hold a combined morning practice for all age groups from 9a-10:30a. This will be a practice to have some fun and celebrate the season in our run up to Champs! Please RSVP your swimmer on SwimTopia if they will be attending this practice so coaches can get a tentative count for planning purposes.
- Team Dinner Information
- Our team dinner at the Veteran's Park Shelter is Thursday, July 9, at 6:30 P.M. This year Farmer in the Deli has graciously helped us out by preparing our Gator Taters! Please RSVP by Wednesday, July 8, at NOON, so we can ensure that there is enough food to accommodate all who are attending. If family members are planning on eating, please include them in your RSVP/count. The food sign up has been posted in the Team Dinner event, similar to how you sign up for volunteer shifts for meets.
Gator Board Information
As we begin to wrap up our 2026 season, it's time to start looking ahead to 2027! We are seeking applicants to be on the Germantown Gator Board. Serving on the board meets the full volunteer requirement for the season, however we often do help with various tasks at meets as well.
If you are interested in running for a seat on the board, please let us know via the 2027 Gator Board Application by Sunday, July 5, 2026, at NOON.
Elections will be held via Google Forms from 7/5 to 7/13 (ballot will close at NOON).
We have five positions on our board:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- League Representative
- Treasurer
Our Gator Board Job Descriptions are posted on our website.
If you would like information about any of the roles, please reach out to a current board member!
The weekly Gator Bulletin will be sent Sunday to help keep some of the information in the forefront of everyone's minds. We hope everyone has a great weekend!
Thanks,
The Gator Board and Coaches
