    Week 7 Gator Bulletin: 7/6/26

    Gator Families,

    We are in our last week of the season culminating with CHAMPS on Saturday! There is a lot going on, so please make sure to read over all the info carefully. We will be having spirit week/coach appreciation this week, check the bulletin out for reminders. Attached you will find this week's Gator Bulletin (7/6), it will also be posted on our Facebook page.

    Specific information for our away meet (Tuesday) will be sent the day of the meet with heat sheets and "Athlete Entries" once we receive them from Idle Hour.

    Elections for the 2027 Gator Board are now open and will close Monday, July 13, at NOON. Each family may complete one ballot at the following link. 2027 Gator Board Voting

    Volunteer Information

    Please check your volunteer shifts in preparation for the meet this week. If you have any questions about the roles, please feel free to contact me. If you no longer can fulfill your shift:

    - Prior to the day of the meet, you are still able to drop your shift on SwimTopia for others to fill.

    - On the meet day, please reach out to us so we can make a backup plan.

    For those still looking to pick up their 6 volunteer shifts. Currently, we have:

    - 4 volunteer shifts open (1- 1st half timer and 3- 2nd half Timer) for the Idle Hour away meet on Tuesday, July 7.

    - 6 volunteer shifts open (3- heat winner ribbons [had out ribbons poolside for each heat, [sessions 2-4], 3-bell heat table [sessions 1, 3, and 4] for Champs on Saturday, July 11, 2023.

    REMINDERS:

    • Declare for the Idle Hour away meet by NOON on Monday (7/6).
      • Please make sure that you mark if you are attending or not attending.
    • RSVP for the Team Dinner by NOON on Wednesday (7/8) so we can ensure there is enough food. Team dinner will be on Thursday, July 9, at 6:30 P.M. at the Veteran’s Park Shelter.
      • Please make sure that you mark if you are attending or not attending.
      • Please sign up to bring an item from the donation list by going to the jobs tab of the event. We will be having the famous Gator Taters prepared by Farmer in the Deli as a way to carb load before the big championship meet.
    • RSVP for the Final Team Combined Practice: On Friday, July 10, the team will hold a combined morning practice for all age groups from 9a-10:30a. This will be a practice to have some fun and celebrate the season in our run up to Champs! Please RSVP your swimmer if they will be attending this practice so coaches can get a tentative count for planning purposes.

    SPIRIT WEEK- This Week!

    This week is Spirit Week/Coach Appreciation Week!! The coaches will be on the lookout for the “best dressed” for the day’s theme at each practice! See attached graphic for themes.

    Upcoming Championship Meet Information

    • The Championship meet at West Carrollton is scheduled for Saturday, July 11.
      • This meet begins in the morning (typically warm ups are around 7:00 A.M.) and concludes around 5:00 P.M. Remember to pack lots of sunscreen and water! Tentative schedule is below.
      • Stretching: 6:50 A.M.
      • In-water Warm-Ups: 7:05 A.M.
      • Meet Begins: 8:15 A.M.
    • On the Thursday night (July 9) before “Champs,” the team will host a team dinner. Please RSVP by Wednesday, July 8, at NOON, so we can ensure we have enough food to accommodate everyone attending. Additionally, we have opened up sign ups for items and supplies.
    • Families can head over to the West Carrollton pool to set up camp for Saturday's Championship meet any time after 5 P.M. on a Friday. A map of where each team camp will be sent later this week..
    • Remember, the entire league attends this meet, so it is a very busy place. The league would like to remind everyone to be good stewards of our team and league, so please make sure to comply with requests of the hosting team.
    • Additionally, the hosting team would like to remind everyone that no grills are permitted at the meet due to fire regulations.
    • The parking lot at West Carrollton fills up quickly, so many people park on Wilson Park Dr. and walk to the pool.
